Meet Our Team
Black Brilliance Research (BBR) is a Black queer-led community research collaborative dedicated to changing the material conditions of the lives of Black, Indigenous, and People of Color communities. Our goal is to explore and amplify community leadership and expertise. We provide tailored strategy and analysis for community partners and governments. From 2020 - 2021, we have over 100 community researchers participating in BBR from a wide variety of lived experiences with: racial injustice, incarceration, gender, education, immigration status, disability, language, age, religion, caregiving, national origin, healthcare, foster care, artistic expression, and professional research.

LéTania Severe they/them
Research Lead
Dr. LéTania Severe is someone who brings their whole self to this work. LéTania's main role in BBR is helping to facilitate teams and connecting the work with community organizing across communities. LéTania is a researcher by trade and training, a first responder, a community organizer, and a person who believes that we all have what it takes to create a better world.
Shaun Glaze they/them
Research Lead and Director
BBR was born through collective struggle and Shaun was one of the many midwives. Shaun's main role in BBR is helping to facilitate the teams and resource them to they can just be brilliant. Shaun started doing participatory action research over 10 years ago and loves using research to as part of a collective goal to create a world where everyone can thrive.
